Liga dos Amigos do Hospital S. João do Porto

A support association for underprivileged children and elderly people undergoing hospitalization. Charity is always associated with a certain degree of idealism. Yet, in order to help those who need it the most, romanticism alone is not enough. Effective charity is the one that contains a huge degree of pragmatism. It was based on this belief that the Liga dos Amigos do Centro Hospitalar de São João came into being on 20 December 2006. Its goal has remained the same since then: to help disabled people, pediatric patients and elderly citizens with significant social, material and affective needs, by monitoring them with greater attention and special care, both inside and outside the hospital (Hospital de S. João).
