Apoio a Vida

 

Apoio à Vida is a private charity that, for over 20 years, has helped more than 4,000 women having their children and strengthen their families. Its mission is to support pregnant women and teenagers in situations of psychological, parental or social difficulties. It is based on pillars such as respect, love and hope.

Lupus

 

Founded in 1992, the Associação de Doentes com Lúpus is a Non-Profit Institution that has always sought to be a bridge between the patients and the various aspects surrounding them, as well as their family and friends, doctors and other health professionals, policy-makers and Society as a whole. With over 3000 patient members, its main goal is to provide medical, social and educational support to patients with lupus and their families.

APSA

 

Forty thousand Portuguese children and young people have Asperger’s Syndrome, a developmental disorder that causes social and educational adaptation problems, which may lead to teenage children dropping out of school. Founded in 2003, the main purpose of APSA is to help young people with this neuro-behavioral disorder to live a more independent and better-quality life. One of APSA projects is the Casa Grande (Big House), designed for young people over the age of 16. It aims to be a training area for practicing social and functional skills, with a view to showing the children how to be independent and to become involved in active life and the world of work.

Founded in 2009 and with the status of IPSS, the Academia dos Champs is a social integration project aimed at children and young people between the ages of five and 18. The main objective is to demonstrate, through the practice of tennis, all the benefits of facing the sport as a philosophy of life. Much more than a simple leisure time project, it aims to provide its students with a real and concrete possibility of overcoming their own limits, opening their horizons to new, better and structured perspectives of life.

An IPSS created in 2016 and aimed at guaranteeing the access of children and young people from poor families to health services in the area of neurodevelopment, in order to promote their integration within their family, school and society. CAPITI provides these families with services for the early identification and access to intervention and diagnosis throughout all childhood and adolescence, including regular monitoring by child development specialists. 

Liga dos Amigos do Hospital S. João do Porto

A support association for underprivileged children and elderly people undergoing hospitalization. Charity is always associated with a certain degree of idealism. Yet, in order to help those who need it the most, romanticism alone is not enough. Effective charity is the one that contains a huge degree of pragmatism. It was based on this belief that the Liga dos Amigos do Centro Hospitalar de São João came into being on 20 December 2006. Its goal has remained the same since then: to help disabled people, pediatric patients and elderly citizens with significant social, material and affective needs, by monitoring them with greater attention and special care, both inside and outside the hospital (Hospital de S. João).

JF Santo António

Developed by the local parish authorities, the Freguesia de Santo António Social Grocery allows underprivileged inhabitants to access primary necessity goods in exchange for symbolic tokens. The project’s sustainability relies on partnerships with local merchants and companies, and the value in Santo António tokens is defined by the parish’s social services, according to the individual’s means and specific conditions. This grocery concept was the first of its kind and supports more than 360 families, meaning around 1.000 people.

Founded in 1498, this secular Catholic institution´s mission is the improvement of the well-being of the whole person, especially the most unprotected. The support of Banco Finantia has been focused on the sponsorship of a psychotherapy consultation program for children residing on Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa shelters.

Palácio Nacional da Ajuda Fundação de Serralves

The bank has been an active patron of the Palácio Nacional da Ajuda since 1997, and is proud to be a founding member of the Fundação de Serralves since 1995, sponsoring several cultural and social programs.

Banco Finantia no ISEG

Banco Finantia has been an active supporter of ISEG – Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (Higher Institute of Economics and Management of the Lisbon Technical University), awarding a prize to the best first-year student of ISEG’s Masters Degree in International Economics and European Studies. The Bank is also a founding member of Fundação Económicas – Fundação para o Desenvolvimento das Ciências Económicas, Financeiras e Empresariais (Foundation for the Development of Economics, Financial and Entrepreneurial Sciences).

LisboMUN

Banco Finantia sponsored the first annual international MUN conference in Portugal. The Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. LisboMUN aims to promote the United Nations activities in Portugal, focusing on the academic community and fostering speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
